    Queen of Hoxton’s Winter Rooftop Presents

    The Moroccan Medina

    This winter the Queen of Hoxton invites you to a hideaway inspired by the far-flung desert realms and romantic splendour of Marrakesh.Escape the grey city pavements to our Rooftop Riad high above the streets of East London, where you’ll find our bar inspired by the intoxicating colours, sights and scents of Moroccan souks. A treasure trove of brightly coloured Babouche slippers, ceramic tiles, twinkling lanterns, cushions and drapes awaits inside our unique rooftop WigWam.

    Climb into our secret snug hidden inside a giant Moroccan lamp and enjoy a Spiced Hot Buttered Rumor Shimmering Gold Pomegranate Bellini amongst the luxurious cushions and dancing lights. Sample delights from our kitchen such as Halloumi Fries, Lamb and Apricot Tagine or a Rainbow Vegan Mezze Board.

    Outside the Wigwamwe’ll pay homage to one of the most Instagrammed places in the world; The Jardin Majorelle –or the Yves Saint Laurent garden in Marrakesh, with green cacti set against the iconic cobalt Blue walls with canopies of fairy lights overhead to illuminate. Moroccan spices and Shisha scents will permeate the night air as you sit around crackling cast iron fire pits.

    Wander across our blue oasis through tiled archways to the bar, where you’ll find decadent warming treats such as sweet Cardamom SpicedCoffee and pots of Fragrant Mint Tea with Rose (available with or without booze).

    Kasbah Coffee Martini (hot)
    A hot Espresso Martini made with Amaro di Angostura, Tia Maria and Espresso, with Cardamom (hot)


    Casablancan Mint Tea
    A fragrant brew of Gin, Fresh Moroccan Mint Tea and Rose Water (hot)

    The Majorelle Man
    Orange liquor, whiskey, homemade date and pistachio puree, served on the rocks (Cold)

    Spiced Hot Buttered Rum
    Our rooftop classic with a Moroccan spiced twist made with Sailor Jerrys, Apple Juice and Moroccan spices served in a mug(hot)

    Deep Fried Halloumi cheese garnished with pomegranate seeds, mint, fresh chilli and harissa yoghurt

    Sherpa’s Tagine
    Lamb and Apricot Tagine Served with Pomegranate and Mint Couscous

    Shawarma Chicken Thigh, shredded Onion Salad, Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Harissa

    As always, we’ll have a special program of immersive arts and culture events to tie in with our theme.  This winter we’re teaming up with Arts Canteen, a London-based collective looking to create artistic links between Europe and the Middle East and independent publisher, Saqi Books, which specialises in books from North Africa, among others to bring you some unique experiences. Including, Henna Workshops, Comedy, Film Screenings, Lizard Life Drawing and much more…
