The Royal Ballet and Opera have announced their 2026 Summer Season, featuring two exclusive programmes curated by celebrated ballet stars Marianela Nuñez and Carlos Acosta. The special performances will take place at the Royal Opera House in London from late July to early August 2026.
Running from 29 July to 2 August, MARIANELA – Timeless will see Royal Ballet Principal Marianela Nuñez present a deeply personal programme celebrating the company and repertoire that have defined her extraordinary career. The evening will include a selection of one-act ballets from The Royal Ballet’s repertory, alongside divertissements performed with fellow Royal Ballet dancers. Designed as a tribute to both her artistic journey and the audiences she cherishes, the programme offers a rare insight into the works and partnerships that have shaped one of ballet’s most admired performers.
From 5 to 9 August, former Royal Ballet Principal Carlos Acosta returns to the Royal Opera House with Carlos Acosta: Myths and Modern Masters. Following his 50th birthday celebrations in 2023, Acosta brings together a bold mix of classic and contemporary works, performed alongside guest artists from Birmingham Royal Ballet and his own company, Acosta Danza. The programme highlights Acosta’s trademark charisma and creative vision, showcasing rare and popular works performed by some of today’s most exciting dance talent.
Further details of both programmes will be announced in February 2026. Public booking for the 2026 Summer Season opens in March 2026.
