In a splendid showcase of glamour and inclusivity, SABIRAH, the conscious demi-couture modest-wear brand by Stylist and Creative Director Deborah Latouche, unveiled its latest Collection 1.7 with an iconic catwalk at Somerset House on Friday, the 16th. The runway was a testament to the brand’s commitment to celebrating the diversity of women, proving that modesty can seamlessly intertwine with high fashion.

As the runway lights illuminated the basement of the West Wing of Somerset House, the audience was transported into a realm where modesty met magnificence. SABIRAH’s Collection 1.7, inspired by the timeless Dominique Devereux of the iconic 80’s TV Show with a sophisticated colour palette featuring peaches, creams, tobacco, silver, and gold. The runway was a visual feast, adorned with antique jewels that accentuated the meticulously crafted silhouettes, mirroring the strength and power dressing of Devereux.

Notably, metallics and gold took centre stage, adding a touch of opulence to the collection. The striking presence of these elements reflected both the brand’s bold aesthetic and the enduring influence of Dominique Devereux’s iconic style. Piers Atkinson’s exquisite powdery pink-feathered hats and delicate lace eyepieces complemented the metallic theme, adding a vintage allure to the ensembles.

One of the highlights of the show was the sharp and voluminous Fan Coat, a masterful piece that showcased SABIRAH’s dedication to exquisite tailoring. Constructed with 15 meters of netting to maintain its structural integrity, the Fan Coat exemplified the brand’s meticulous approach to design.

Deborah Latouche’s vision for SABIRAH extends beyond fashion; it encompasses a belief in the elevation of all women, irrespective of size, race, or religion. The Somerset House catwalk became a platform for the brand to underscore its commitment to inclusivity.
