It’s a murder mystery within a murder mystery in the new film ’See How They Run.’

Jam-packed with loads of famous names, ’See How They Run’ cleverly, and why this hasn’t been thought of before, brings to the screen London’s longest running show – ’The Mousetrap’ – as a sub plot to a murder that has taken place in the Ambassador’s theatre and it’s up to two detectives to find out who the killer is. Saoirse Ronan is junior Constable Stalker, who writes everything, everything down, and is assigned to the murder case with Inspector Stoppard (a perfect Sam Rockwell).

So who killed Leo Kopernick (Adrien Brody)? Kopernick was an American Director who had planned to turn ’The Mousetrap’ into a movie, and he’s murdered backstage, but why? Another body turns up soon after who is also connected to the film. And there is clause in the film contract which states that the film can’t be made until 6 months after the play closes (the current show is still running after 70 years). The cast in the film is full of suspect characters: American actor Richard Attenborough (Harris Dickinson); theatre impresario Petula “Choo” Spencer (Ruth Wilson); film producer John Woolf (Reece Shearsmith); Usher Dennis (Charlie Cooper); Pippa Bennet as Woolf’s personal secretary and mistress; Sian Clifford as Woolf’s wife, perhaps a bit scorned; and a few others who might have had a hand in the killings. While Constable Stalker is learning on the job while preparing for her sargeant’s exam, Stoppard investigates every lead, every twist and turn, and ends up, along with everyone else, at Agatha Christie’s (Shirley Henderson) house for a supposed dinner party, alongside strange butler Fellowes (Paul Chahidi).

’See How They Run’ is a delicious murder mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end. Now playing in UK cinemas.
