As literature plays a key role in the creative process of building each chapter, recurrent aesthetics as the victorian, steampunk & dark romantic are now colliding with the 70s and its individuality.

The 70s represent the years of female’s body liberation due to the growth of women’s rights; we have the flare, the high-waist, the androgynous glam rock & new wave, the maxi-gowns.

The title is taken to refer to the tension between the clerical (black) and secular (red) interests of the protagonist. As the novel underlines the contrasts between the French Revolution & the Restauration, the collection itself is a representation of contrasts : the structure vs the fluidity, the austerity vs the transparency, the elegance of refined fabrics vs the roughness of the accessories.
