Stars join crowds at London’s Hyde Park to encourage women across the UK to sign up and help beat cancer
TV personalities Stacey Solomon and Game of Thrones star Laura Pradelska joined thousands of women to take part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life today. The stars were accompanied by friends and cheered on by Celebs Go Dating expert Nadia Essex as they made their way around the leafy 5k course in London’s Hyde Park.
On crossing the finish line, Stacey Solomon said “The atmosphere at Race for Life today is so inspiring, it definitely made the 5k easier! It doesn’t matter if people are jogging, running or walking the route, just that they’re here, taking part to raise money for research to help beat cancer. For anyone who hasn’t signed up yet I’d say definitely give it a go – it’s a great way to get some exercise and raise money for Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work.”
Emily Smith, head of Race for Life said “We’re thrilled that Stacey and Laura enjoyed being part of Race for Life at Hyde Park today. They join thousands of other incredible women taking on events across the UK this summer to raise money for life-saving research. Over the last 22 years, more than eight million women have taken part in Race for Life and raised almost £790 million. It’s an incredible amount that has helped fund vital research and trials. Every pound raised at Race for Life will help continue our pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer.”
There are many Race for Life events across the UK still open for entries, with routes including 5k, 10k, half and full marathon, and Pretty Muddy – a 5k obstacle course. Enter now at raceforlife.org
