Apple TV has released the official trailer for the fourth season of its Emmy Award-winning comedy series “Ted Lasso,” marking the return of Jason Sudeikis’ beloved football-inspired story. The new ten-episode season will premiere globally on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with the first episode arriving on launch day, followed by weekly episodes every Wednesday until October 7 on Apple TV.
Starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Jason Sudeikis, the upcoming season introduces a new challenge for Ted Lasso as he returns to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s football team. The season will explore Ted and his players as they embrace uncertainty, take risks, and face challenges they never expected.
Season four brings back several familiar faces, including Emmy Award winners Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein, alongside Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift. The new season also expands the cast with additions including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.
Sudeikis continues as executive producer alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel. Emmy Award-winning producer Jack Burditt joins the season as an executive producer under his overall deal with Apple TV. Brett Goldstein also serves as writer and executive producer, joined by Leann Bowen.
Additional season four creative team members include writers and producers Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh, co-producer Sasha Garron, writer Julia Lindon, and story editor Dylan Marron. Bill Lawrence executive produces through Doozer Productions, alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer, with the series produced in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt, “Ted Lasso” is based on the existing format and characters originally created for NBC Sports.
Since its global debut on Apple TV, “Ted Lasso” has become one of the platform’s most successful original series. The show received widespread recognition from audiences and critics, with its first season becoming the most Emmy Award-nominated comedy series at the time. The series also achieved back-to-back Emmy wins for Outstanding Comedy Series for its first two seasons.
