Environmental organisation WWF (Worldwide Fund for Nature) has today appointed Patrick Aryee to its Council of Ambassadors. As well as his inquisitive scientific mind and an infectious passion for the natural world, Patrick brings to WWF over 10 years’ experience of wildlife filmmaking, and with it, an ability to create engaging stories that showcase the wonder of nature as well as the threats it faces.
As an Ambassador, Patrick will bring his professional experience and a fresh perspective to support WWF in creating new and compelling content, helping the organisation to tell vital stories about wildlife, landscapes and people. Patrick shares with WWF a core belief that by exploring the challenges faced by people and species, we can shine a spotlight on wider environmental issues affecting the whole planet, from deforestation and water scarcity to climate change.
Describing why he chose to join WWF, Patrick said: “I’ve always been fascinated by the way that our planet’s ecosystems work in such perfect harmony. I was inspired by nature documentaries as a child growing up, and today, it’s this same inspiration that drives me to surprise and delight viewers from the comfort of their own homes. What drew me to work with WWF more closely is their commitment to building a future where people live in harmony with nature. As an Ambassador, I hope to shed more light on the critical issues facing the planet and humanity today. Working to include the richness of diverse voices within that storytelling will be key to our success.”
