The Erzincan Cinema Academy, set to take place in Erzincan, Türkiye, from October 5-9, will bring together film industry professionals, actors and aspiring young filmmakers with contributions from London-based FabUK Film Academy.

The Erzincan Cinema Academy, which will be held in the eastern Turkish city of Erzincan, aims to strengthen cultural and professional links between Türkiye and the United Kingdom, alongside providing film education and opportunities for industry networking.
Taking place from October 5-9, the academy will bring together film directors, art directors, cinema and television actors, as well as local residents of Erzincan interested in cinema.

The project is being organized by the Erzincan Civilization, Arts and Tourism Association (MESAT), with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s General Directorate of Cinema, and contributions from the Erzincan Governorship, Erzincan Municipality, Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, Ergan Extreme and London-based FabUK Film Academy.
The program will feature film workshops, talks, seminars, open-air film screenings and theatre performances by actors. The academy particularly aims to give young people the opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the film industry and to establish direct contact with industry professionals.

One of the project’s objectives is to promote Erzincan not only as a cultural center but also as a potential filming location for film and television productions from Türkiye and abroad.
As part of the academy, film professionals visiting the city will be introduced to Erzincan’s natural, historical and urban locations, with the aim of exploring the region’s potential for future film and television productions.
Ferruh Erkan, Chairman of the Board of the Erzincan Civilization, Arts and Tourism Association, said the project is a continuation of the international short film festivals previously held in the city. He expressed his belief that the academy would contribute to Erzincan’s cultural promotion and to the development of cinema-related activities in the region.

Erkan recalled that Erzincan had previously hosted directors, academics, and cinema and television actors, adding that the new academy aims to continue these efforts on a broader scale.

The contribution of London-based FabUK Film Academy gives the project an international dimension. While supporting film education and industry networking in Erzincan, the project also provides a platform for developing new cultural and professional collaborations between Türkiye and the United Kingdom.
The Erzincan Cinema Academy is scheduled to take place in Erzincan from October 5-9, 2026.
