Uzbekistan Fashion Week is a fashion week that has been held since 2019 at the initiative of the Council of Young Designers. The project is one of the main fashion events of Uzbekistan, bringing together local and international designers on one platform and will be held twice a year starting from 2022. To date, within 3 seasons, about 4500 works of 280 designers have been presented to the public.
For the first time, the first season of the Uzbekistan Fashion Week project was held in 2019. The project received great interest from local and foreign experts. This season, the worldfamous brand “Ashi Studio” participated with its author’s show, and guests from all neighboringcountries came to the show. About 100 local designers and 30 foreign designers participated in the week, and more than 3000 looks were presented. 90% of the participants were young people.
The second season of “Uzbekistan Fashion Week” took place on May 24-31, 2022. More than 40 designers from Tashkent city, regions, Central Asia and CIS countries participated in this event. As part of the event, young people will meet with famous designers, master classes, a show at the P.Benkov Republican Specialized Art School, an “Open Air” fashion exhibition around the Alisher Navoi Big Theatre fountain, as well as a competition of young designers, a show and the awarding of UFW Awards ceremony was held. It hosts about 20,000 fashionistas weekly and presents more than 1,500 looks.
On November 18-20, 2022, the 3rd season was held on the DIGITAL theme. During the week, the future appearance of Uzbek fashion was shown, and the audience was presented with the latest trends. In addition to simulating the use of artificial intelligence in the shows, seminars and masterclasses were organized with foreign experts. More than 60 designers participated in the week, 90% of them are young people. Also, as a summary of the year, the strongest experts in the field were recognized.
Within the framework of the 3rd season, the Young Designers competition called “Commence” was organized with the support of the Youth Affairs Agency. Talented students and free young designers from various universities and special secondary educational complexes of our country took part in the competition. The winner of the competition won a ticket to Milan, Italy in September 2023 to present the collection of dresses.
