Debuting on the runway at London Fashion Week SS20, Vz Perfection by Vaishali had the audience abuzz with her ‘Dragonflies’ collection.

Haute couture garments created from silk and infused with Georgette and Chiffon were adorned with dragonflies, each one hand-embellished by specialist artisans in India. Like dragonflies, the garments seemed black and grey from a distance but the closer the models came, the more vibrant the colours appeared.

Dragonflies were Vaishali’s inspiration as they are a symbol of strength, hope and change. “Fashion to me, is an expression of personality. I wanted to celebrate the way I am and create garments I would wear – something new but classic, for all ages, which could not be found in the high street. And as I worked on my collection, it felt more about the empowerment of women, of self-discovery and growing confidence – not just for me.”

A strong advocate for sustainability and Fairtrade, Vaishali uses the best quality, ethically-sourced natural fabrics and hand-made embellishments to make her garments, which she ensures are well-made to last a lifetime.

“Being part of London Fashion Week has made my passion to design and create even more powerful,” says Vaishali. “I never want to stop designing and creating!”
