Hyde Park Winter Wonderland will be the home of Christmas entertainment this winter, with four new shows set to take to its stages: Cinderella on Ice, Zippos Christmas Circus presents Lights, Camera, Action; Cirque Berserk – ‘Rebellion’ and The Sooty Christmas Show. Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is the UK’s number one Christmas destination and runs for 6 weeks from Friday 17th November 2017 – Monday 1st January 2018.
New for 2017/18, The Imperial Ice Stars present Cinderella on Ice housed within the colourful Russian-inspired façade of The Winter Palace Theatre. Combining powerful storytelling and world class ice skating The Imperial Ice Stars have created a modern twist to the classic fairy tale, Cinderella. Taking to the ice will be 18 World, European and National Championship level skaters performing high-speed throws, incredible lifts and jump sequences that will captivate all ages. With elegant choreography, state of the art projection and special effects such as rain, fire and flying, the show will be a must-see this Christmas season.
Family favourite, Zippos Circus, will return with their all new daytime show Zippos Christmas Circus presents Lights, Camera, Action! The ever popular show is guaranteed fun from start to finish and boasts an array of the world’s finest circus acts in the UK’s biggest circus tent. Breath- taking acrobats, knockabout comedy and stunning illusions will leave the whole family entertained. Joining the host of circus artists will be giant dancing snow bears, courtesy of Britain’s Got Talent finalist Vadik and the Bears.
Each evening will also see a new performance of Cirque Berserk – Rebellion, showcasing mind- blowing stunts and acrobatic agility set in a ‘Blade Runner’ style future. Back by popular demand is the world’s most exhilarating circus act, featuring legendary motorcyclists speeding at over 60mph in a steel globe cage. Accompanying this will be the Cuban Revolution troupe, extreme contortion from Juma, amazing aerial straps, a mesmerizing motorbike highwire act, Robotics and an unmissable finale that will stun audiences.
The big family laughter show is back with a brand new variety performance, direct from CITV The Sooty Christmas Show will show every day at 11am. Joining the nation’s favourite bear will be Sweep, Soo and TV’s Richard Cadell as they try to stage their own Christmas talent spectacular but as expected nothing quite goes to plan. A mix of magic, music and plenty of audience participation, The Sooty Christmas Show is an unmissable festive giggle for Sooty fans old and new. Visitors to The Sooty Christmas Show will also be greeted by either a big Sooty or Sweep mascot every weekday from 10:30am prior to the sparkling new production.
As well as Cinderella on Ice, Zippos Christmas Circus, Cirque Berserk and The Sooty Christmas Show, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland will host many new and returning attractions including the UK’s largest outdoor Ice Rink, Europe’s largest indoor ice and snow sculpture experience The Magical Ice Kingdom Deep Sea Adventure, The Giant Observation Wheel, Bar Ice, over 150 chalets in the Angels Christmas Market, the world’s largest transportable rollercoaster Munich Looping, alongside food and drink throughout including Bar Hütte, a unique take on ‘Alpine Après-Ski’.
