4th December 2017

Cubitt House is delighted to announce the second instalment of its craft series at The Alfred Tennyson in Belgravia: a festive wreath-making workshop in partnership with award-winning florist, Hayford & Rhodes, taking place on Monday 4th December from 6 pm.

The Alfred Tennyson

Make your door stand out from your neighbour’s this Christmas with this festive workshop, where the experts from Hayford & Rhodes will teach guests the fine art of creating an elegant wreath for them to take home. Synonymous with quality, luxurious flowers, Hayford & Rhodes has built an enviable reputation as one of London’s finest florists, having won the ‘Innovation Award for Chelsea in Bloom’ at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

The workshop will include a festive reception of Christmas cocktails and canapes – such as wild mushroom & chestnut croquettes and mini turkey burgers – which can be enjoyed throughout the evening. The canapes are designed with a focus on seasonal produce and the Cubitt House ethos of sustainable cooking. Guests are invited to ascend to the cosy ‘Loft’ area on the top floor of The Alfred Tennyson public house, which has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and reopened in September 2017. The roaring fire and plush armchairs will provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere to learn this new craft, while enjoying delectable cocktails and Cubitt House’s acclaimed hospitality.

Hayford & Rhodes will guide guests through the techniques to create their own bespoke Christmas wreath, following which they can take their masterpiece home with them to display proudly on their front door. Participants will be taken on a floral journey, learning about colours, styles and trends stem by stem, to ensure their hand-made wreath will look every bit as professional as the Hayford & Rhodes wreaths themselves. Hayford & Rhodes will provide all flowers, foliage, berries, holly and more to reflect the festive season in every wreath.

The wreath-making workshop comes following the successful launch of the craft series at the venue with a poetry evening which took place on National Poetry Day in September.

Tickets for the workshop cost £90 including the workshop, wreath to take home, canapes and 3 cocktails per person.
