5 Key Points on Choosing Bridesmaid Dress

In order to pick a colour that looks good on everyone who will be wearing the dress, it is important to know what colours flatter each skin tone. When choosing a dress color for your bridesmaids it is best to try and either go with a colour that flatters all of your maid’s skin tones, or pick different shades of the same colour. Cicinia offers some points on choosing bridesmaid dresses for your wedding: For example, if you want all of your girls to wear blue, consider choosing an ice blue for some and maybe a periwinkle shade for another girl who has a darker skin tone and one with a lighter skin tone who doesn’t tan very well. This way all of your bridesmaids will look great in their dresses, yet still, match everyone else at the wedding party!

5 key points on choosing bridesmaid dress

    1. Shopping Bridesmaid Dresses by Color

Once you have decided on which colour looks best on each girl, it is time to arrange them from lightest to darkest. Sometimes it is helpful to put a swatch of the colors on each girl and see which one brings out her complexion the best. If you think that this will be too difficult, just go with your gut feeling.

Keep in mind, you may not even want to put everyone in matching dresses. Maybe there are some girls who both wear an ivory or champagne color very well and maybe you want to put those girls in matching dresses. Just remember, there is no rule that everyone has to be in the same dress!

    2. Shopping Bridesmaid Dresses by Body Structure

If you have bridesmaids with different body shapes, then you should choose a dress that enhances their best features and downplay the rest. You can do this by choosing a dress that is of one colour and has variations on the neckline and hemline. For example, if your bridesmaids have thin legs but thick upper bodies, then you may want to show off their sexy legs with a short skirt while covering up their broad shoulders with a sleeveless top.

    3. Shopping Bridesmaid Dresses by Dress Design

There are different types of bridesmaid dress designs that you can go for. If your wedding is traditional, then it would do well if you chose strapless dresses in the colour of your choice. However, if you want something more modern, then it’s good to try on dresses with asymmetrical necklines and unique colour combinations

    4. Shopping Bridesmaid Dresses by Season

Most brides prefer to have their wedding during spring or summer when the sun is still up around 6 pm, making it easier for you to take beautiful pictures after the ceremony. The colours that look great on a warm day are pastels while darker shades work perfectly during autumn. The chilly winter months are good for darker colours that are perfect for the cold season

    5. Bridesmaid Dresses by Fabric

Colour and fabric are important as they are intertwined. Most people think of silk as the most popular fabric for bridesmaid dresses. However, you can try on lace or chiffon gowns if you want something more unique and elegant. You can even opt to have your bridal gown made from the same fabric as your bridesmaids’ dress so that everything would match.

Now that you have chosen your colours it’s time to order or make your bridesmaids’ dresses. If possible, try not to choose a shade of colour that is trendy at the time of your wedding. Unless you are getting married very soon, try to choose more classic colours that will go out of style within 3 years or so. For example, if your wedding is in May 2010, you probably don’t want to pick a dress colour that was popular in 2008 because it may be dated by the time your wedding rolls around in 5 years.

Generally, choosing the right colour for your bridesmaid dress is not an easy task. Although most people will say that it’s simple, others would beg to differ. If you are planning on asking your friends or relatives to be at your wedding, then you would really want them to look their best on that special day of yours. The easiest way to do that is to choose the right colour that would flatter their skin tone and body structure.
