Autumn/Winter 2017

“Unbound” is inspired by the unexplored and delves into the contrasts between the underwater world and the unlimited universe. Alexis will debut at London Fashion Week with several impressive showpieces, each built with dramatic volume in the sleeves and trains, whilst still accentuating the waist.

Alexis CarballosaThe idea in their construction was to find the balance and manipulate it within different fabrics to flatter the feminine figure. The

palette for the Carballosa woman sees hues of blue, green and yellow with accents of metallic adding another dimension of texture.

The finale look is an all-black gown made from gazer silk and organza, complimented with this seasons signature sleeves, amplified to create a powerful silhouette.

“One of my primary goals when designing this collection was to explore the balance between structure and fluidity while challenging the stereotypical idea of what a fall collection is supposed to be.” – AC

All of the accessories have been hand-created by Carballosa using repurposed materials. The materials transform into art and become indistinguishable from their original form which very much falls in line with his belief in creating awareness of the environmental movement through his collection.

Alexis is of Spanish Venezuelan descent and is now based in Miami. He developed a great interest in the world of fashion at an early age and was greatly influenced by his Grandmother Josephine. She trained him at her exclusive haute couture tailor shop in Caracas where he was exposed to the demanding taste of high society.
