Apple TV marked the upcoming global premiere of its Australian thriller series ‘Last Seen’ with a special screening in Sydney on Wednesday, September 2, bringing together members of the cast and creative team.
The Sydney event was attended by stars Patrick Brammall, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall and Chloe Jean Lourdes, along with executive producers Hakan Kousetta, Kris Mrksa and Joanna Werner.
Entirely set and filmed in Victoria, Australia, Last Seen is a six-episode drama starring Gotham Award winner Patrick Brammall. The series is produced by 60Forty Films and adapted by acclaimed writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa from The Dispatcher, the book by CWA John Creasey Dagger Award-winning author Ryan David Jahn.
Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow directs and executive produces the series.
‘Last Seen’ Storyline
The series follows police detective Ian Ridley, played by Brammall, whose life was devastated 11 years earlier when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace.
Now working as a police dispatcher, Ridley has remained determined to believe that his daughter could still be alive. His resolve is tested when he receives a distress call from a teenage girl he is convinced is Maggie.
Certain that he has finally found his missing daughter, Ridley sets out to locate her and reunite his fractured family, regardless of the consequences.
Alongside Brammall, known for Colin from Accounts, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Evil, the cast includes Maxine Peake (Say Nothing, Black Mirror), Brendan Cowell (Dune: Prophecy, Plum), Daniel Henshall (Mickey 17, How to Make Gravy), Zahra Newman (Thirteen Lives, Addition), Jessica Wren (Mr. Inbetween, Devil’s Playground) and Tobias Muhafidin (Bali 2002). Chloe Jean Lourdes makes her introduction with the series.
Creative Team Behind the Series
Last Seen is executive produced by Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta for 60Forty Films, whose credits include Hijack, Slow Horses and Down Cemetery Road.
The executive producing team also includes Christian Schwochow, whose credits include The Crown, Bad Banks and Munich: The Edge of War; Kris Mrksa, known for Requiem, No Escape and The Murders at White House Farm; and Joanna Werner, whose credits include The Newsreader, Riot and Clickbait.
‘Last Seen’ Apple TV Release Date
Last Seen will make its global debut on Apple TV on Wednesday, September 9. The series will launch with its first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through October 7.
