The photographs ‘Loudest silence’ by Nina Franco reveals the increasing attempt to silence women and suffocates them in their own cry for freedom and emancipation.

One of the highlight artists this year is Brazilian feminist artist, Nina Franco. She will be launching the exhibition ‘Clandestinas’, an artwork composed of photographs, installation and performance, in memory of all women who died due to the criminalization of abortion in Brazil. The recent resumption of this debate in Brazil was the inspiration for the work. The pressure of civil society, the churches, the ultra-conservative congress that prevent real advances, and meanwhile, more than 200 women enter for statistics of deaths by illegal abortion practices.

Hybrid brings a dynamic event with a program of atypical exhibitions, which complements with many parallel activities that favour interaction between artists and public, and turn the visit to the fair into a different and unique experience.

The rooms of the Petit Palace Santa Bárbara hotel become spaces for exhibitions and site-specific installations during the fair. In addition, other parts of the hotel will be the setting for concerts, performances, training activities and exclusive events for professionals and art collectors.

The fair will happen from 1-3 March 2019 in the hear of Madrid.
