From the beginner’s first steps to the expert’s powder-filled escapades, the long list of resorts here provides great skiing, as well as the flexibility to grow and challenge yourself as you go.

    Val d’Isère

Val d’Isère is a destination that enjoys world-class status among skiers, yet it’s surprisingly versatile for all skill levels. While the resort is famous for its extensive expert terrain, beginners are far from left out.

The resort’s ski school is renowned for its clear, structured lessons that ease novices into skiing without overwhelming them. For intermediate skiers, the wide and gentle blue slopes allow room to build confidence.

As you improve, you’ll appreciate the vastness of over 300 kilometres of pistes, connecting you to the larger Espace Killy ski area.

    Belle Plagne

Belle Plagne sits in the heart of the Paradiski area, offering an excellent balance of pistes for all levels. The well-organised layout places easy slopes close to the centre, making it ideal for beginners.

You won’t have to venture far from the main village to find gentle greens and blues perfect for building technique. For the more advanced, Belle Plagne’s connection to the Paradiski area means you can quickly reach more challenging runs across the mountain range.

The village atmosphere adds to the charm, ensuring your après-ski experience is equally satisfying.

    Méribel

Experience a blend of traditional charm and modern skiing at Méribel. The extensive range of runs available means there’s something for everyone.

Beginners will find plenty of space to ease into the sport, thanks to the multitude of wide green and blue pistes that wind through the trees.

Intermediate skiers will appreciate the array of varied runs, while experts will find satisfaction in the resort’s links to the vast Three Valleys. The vast network of runs here ensures that the challenge continues as you develop your skills.

    Avoriaz

Located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Avoriaz has a distinct reputation for being both beginner-friendly and a paradise for snowboarders. The resort offers plenty of flat areas and gentle slopes, making it a great starting point for anyone new to the sport.

There’s also a wealth of facilities, from dedicated beginner zones with magic carpets to local ski schools that focus on comfort and progression. The snow-sure location, nestled high above the valley, ensures excellent conditions throughout the season.

    La Clusaz

This charming, less crowded resort delivers a fantastic variety of slopes. The ski area offers a suitable progression path for beginners, with forgiving runs perfect for your first turns.

As you gain confidence, you can explore the abundance of blue and red runs that twist and turn across the mountain.

La Clusaz is also known for its high-quality ski schools and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal base for families or groups of skiers at different levels. The resort’s stunning alpine views only enhance the overall experience.
