Graduate Fashion Week is proud to announce that global denim and apparel brand Levi’s® is partnering with Graduate Fashion Week in 2018 , sponsoring the long-established Vivienne Westwood Ethical and Sustainable Award alongside introducing a new Graduate Talent Programme.

Graduate fashion week announces levi’s® sponsorship (1)As the original denim brand, Levi’s® created the world’s first blue jean 1873 – Levi’s® 501® jeans. Ever since Levi’s® have been a canvas for authentic self-expression for everyone from musicians to activists and innovators to fashion icons. With innovation, creativity and sustainability at the heart of the brand, it was a natural fit for the brand to sponsor Graduate Fashion Week’s Vivienne Westwood Ethical and Sustainable Award which will be judged on Wednesday 6th June by a panel of industry experts. The winner will be announced on the catwalk at the famous Gala Award Show that same evening. Levi’s® will honor the winning graduate with a £750 prize as well as a further £250 to the winning graduate’s university.

Graduate fashion week announces levi’s® sponsorship (1)In collaboration with GFW, Levi’s® are looking for the next generation of original thinkers for the chance to be part of the Levi’s® Brand Legacy under the name of LEVI’S® GRADUATE TALENT PROGRAMME. The iconic denim brand is offering three incredible graduate placement opportunities across their London and Stockholm head offices. These full time positions will be for one-year, full-time starting in September 2018 and the graduates will gain invaluable first-hand experience at working for a major international brand and be given insight into the function of the business through working on key projects.

    Graduate Talent Roles:
    – Tailor Assistant
    – Merchandising and Planning Assistant
    – Marketing and PR Assistant

Richard Hurren, VP Levi’s® North “To partner with Graduate Fashion Week is an incredibly exciting opportunity. Having been at the centre of culture since 1873 and a part of the fashion narrative for generations, Levi’s® has constantly sought to engage with youthful optimism and our most seminal moments as a brand have been when we’ve been at the heart of the generational cultural and social zeitgeist. This is a great experience to be a part of to engage with graduates and meet with the next generation of talent who will shape the global community and business of fashion”.

Graduate fashion week announces levi’s® sponsorship (2)As part of their new involvement within Graduate Fashion Week, Levi’s® will also have an interactive stand onsite giving graduates the opportunity to receive career advice on a ‘drop in basis’, including tips on how to improve their portfolio and CVs. In addition, there will be further recruitment opportunities for graduates to explore within the company. Levi’s® will also be hosting engaging talks within the GFW Talk Live! studio with key industry and team members.

Martyn Roberts, Managing and Creative Director of Graduate Fashion Week said: “We are extremely excited to have Levi’s® on board for 2018 which is set to be the biggest and busiest event yet. Their introduction of the new Next Generation Talent project for GFW is a perfect match for the charity ethos, by bridging the gap between graduation and employment.”

Graduate fashion week announces levi’s® sponsorshipGFW is the world’s largest event for BA Fashion talent and will be taking place on the 3rd-6th June 2018 at The Old Truman Brewery, Shoreditch, London.
