With over 70 million record sales, 70 number ones, a burgeoning solo career and a blockbuster movie under his belt, it seems everything HARRY STYLES touches turns to gold.
And now he can add EXPERT AXE THROWER to his long-list of achievements after he scored his way into Whistle Punks Urban Axe Throwing’s HALL OF FAME on his very first visit to the venue.
The former One Direction member took his friend, Radio One host Nick Grimshaw to visit the axe throwing hotspot in Manchester for an afternoon of throwing metal weapons at targets as part of the one-off special, ‘Harry Styles at the BBC’, which aired last night [THURS].
And despite it being his first attempt at throwing axes, it seems Styles has discovered an unusual hidden talent.
A spokesperson for Whistle Punks said: “We have a Hall of Fame for visitors who manage to score more than 50 points in a session, and to date there’s only maybe 100 people who’ve achieved it since Whistle Punks began. Harry came in on his first ever visit, and got a score of 55. That puts him easily in the top two percent of everybody who’s come through our doors.”
The instructors were so impressed with Harry’s axe-flinging ability that they gave him the chance to try a special trick shot and watched in amazement as Styles aced that, too – landing two axes in two bullseyes on separate targets at the SAME TIME.
“Everybody who comes here manages to throw an axe into the target by the end of their first session,” said the spokesperson. “Some people find they have a natural talent and manage a high score, but very few people move on to trick shots without a lot of practice.”
Styles proudly signed a special wooden plaque and placed it on the Hall of Fame, where visitors can see how they match up against the star of Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Nick Grimshaw, who found himself top of a much less desirable leaderboard – the LOSER’S WALL.
After only managing a meagre score of 35, Nick took it upon himself to create a wall for himself, scribbling ‘LOSERS’ on the wall and placing his own special plaque for all to see.
