A new photography series, released today by Nikon, see fashion photographer Julia Kennedy combine two mainstream art forms, as she blends the world of fashion with London’s most stunning street art.
Working with French stylist Coline Bach, Julia used the speed and resolution of Nikon’s latest DSLR camera, the D850, and a variety of NIKKOR lenses, to capture the dynamism and fast-pace of busy urban life, while also incorporating the extravagance of the fashion industry.
This exclusive eight-part photography series reflects Julia’s ethos that fashion shouldn’t be restricted to the catwalk but can be appreciated in any setting. Her images focus on vibrant colour, rich texture and movement, while the styling and prop work purposely place the models within the context of North and East London’s finest murals. The speed, high-resolution and light sensitivity of the D850 meant I could capture all the movement, detail and colour within each scene – creating a sense of excitement in these everyday urban settings.”
