StudioBritish.com launched their website this week as the first online store to offer clothing and accessories exclusively made in the UK. The platform launches with a capsule Autumn Winter ‘17 collection, celebrating classic pieces such as merino knitwear and cashmere woollens, synonymous to the British fashion industry. Studio British will target a global audience who prefer sustainable and quality clothing.
The business is founded by Anabel Calvo, a former consultant at Deloitte, and Ben Bailey, who has a background in disruptive tech startups. Based in London, UK, they hope Studio British will help to change attitudes surrounding our over-consumption of fast fashion.
Co-founder Ben Bailey said, “As we have seen with food over the last few years, consumers are starting to care more about the provenance and quality of their clothing.
By offering the best of British under one roof, we make it easier for conscious consumers to move away from the fast fashion that inundates our high streets today.
We hope to be able to educate and inspire fashion-lovers, by showing off the talented array of designers and manufacturers based right here in the UK.”
The platform has launched with well-known British brands such as John Smedley, Private White VC, Mackintosh, Pringle and Trickers. They will also be joined by exciting up-and-coming designers such as Genevieve Sweeney, Baia Bags and Yull.
With free worldwide delivery and returns, Studio British aims to become a leading player in the growing online fashion space.
