PARIS, June 1, 2026 — The Official Selection of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, which has just concluded, will continue its post-festival journey with a special screening programme in Paris showcasing short films and student award winners.
Audiences will be able to revisit highlights from the 2026 short film Competition and the La Cinef selection on June 2 at 6 p.m. at the Cinéma du Panthéon.
The evening will open with the La Cinef award-winning films (runtime: 1 hour 16 minutes), featuring works from emerging filmmakers across international film schools.
La Cinef winners include:
- First Prize: LASER-GATO (Laser-Cat) by Lucas Acher (NYU, USA, 22’)
- Second Prize: SILENT VOICES by Nadine Misong Jin (Columbia University, USA, 17’)
- Joint Third Prize:
- ALDRIG NOK (Never Enough) by Julius Lagoutte Larsen (La Fémis, France, 25’)
- GROWING STONES, FLYING PAPERS by Roozbeh Gezerseh & Soraya Shamsi (Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, Germany, 12’)
The programme will continue at 8 p.m. with the Short Films in Competition (runtime: 2 hours 28 minutes), presenting a diverse international selection of fiction and experimental works.

The special Paris screenings aim to extend the reach of this year’s Cannes selections beyond the festival, offering local audiences a chance to discover emerging global talent in short filmmaking.
