This November, Pinewood Studios welcomed over 4,000 young people from all over the UK for Futures Festival 2022. The key aim of the event was to inspire and educate students about the career opportunities across our booming industry which is currently facing a skills shortage. Those who visited met employers and industry professionals, took part in workshops, attended talks and experienced Pinewood Studios’ filmmaking facilities.

The event had a packed schedule of industry speakers including Special Effects Supervisor and Director Chris Corbould, BFI Board Member and Advisor Monica Chadha, Producer Lord David Puttnam, Costume Designer Penny Rose, Sound Designer Glenn Freemantle, Production Designer Sonja Klaus, ScreenSkills panel and Actor’s Studio Founder Tim Kent. These sold-out talks, with Q&As were hosted by BBC Radio One’s Film Journalist Ali Plumb who also presented two talks on film publicity and the landscape of film journalism and reviewing.

Facilities showcased at Pinewood Studios included the Underwater Stage, Post Production Theatre’s, The Sean Connery Stage and TV Studios.
