LONDON — As the global fashion industry grapples with shifting trade dynamics, tightening regulatory landscapes, and the lingering tension between profit margins and sustainable progress, Source Fashion is choosing optimism over anxiety.

The European sourcing trade show has unveiled ‘ReGen Futures,’ its overarching campaign vision for its upcoming edition, taking place from 19–21 January 2027 at ExCeL London. Drawing creative inspiration from retro-futurism, the campaign fuses design heritage with modern technology to offer a actionable framework for an industry navigating profound structural change.
Rather than framing sustainability as a series of restrictive targets or survival metrics, ReGen Futures positions responsible progress as a commercial opportunity—one built on smarter systems, material intelligence, and longer product lifecycles rather than sheer volume.
“Fashion is facing enormous change, but we don’t want the conversation about its future to be driven entirely by fear, or solving the problems we have right this second,” says Suzanne Ellingham, Event Director of Source Fashion.
“Progress doesn’t have to mean producing more; it can mean making better choices—better materials, smarter systems, longer product lives, and technology that works alongside us and empowers people, not replaces them. It’s a difficult time to be running a business, but we also forget that it is an exciting time to really look at what’s possible.”
A Grounded Approach to Complex Realities
The campaign direction emerges from extensive dialogue across the global fashion ecosystem. Source Fashion’s research engaged buyers, designers, technologists, sustainability executives, academics, and policy advisors, revealing an industry seeking practical clarity over idealistic promises.
Across three days in London, the January 2027 edition will translate these conversations into physical show-floor experiences, practical education tracks, and panel debates with leading retail executives, sourcing directors, and manufacturers. The agenda focuses on core industry challenges:
- Navigating Global Trade: Strategies for managing shifting international supply chains and economic realignments.
- Commercial Sourcing Realities: Balancing product margin with ethical, low-impact procurement.
- Regenerative Materials & Circularity: Scaling closed-loop systems, innovative textiles, and end-of-life considerations.
- Responsible AI & Systems: Implementing technological tools that enhance human craft and operational efficiency.
- Talent & Culture: Equipping existing workforces with the skills required to lead long-term transformation.
Building Fashion’s Next Era
At its core, the initiative builds on Source Fashion’s foundational purpose: enabling global buyers to make better commercial and environmental choices by directly connecting them with responsible manufacturers and verified supply chain partners.
The full roster of speakers, interactive features, and content modules will be announced in the months leading up to the January event.
“The future of fashion isn’t something we simply wait for,” Ellingham adds. “It’s something we make.”
