The British Fashion Council (BFC) is delighted to welcome TikTok, the leading destination for short-form mobile video, as the Principal Partner of The Fashion Awards 2021. The BFC and TikTok will work together to evolve The Fashion Awards as a global entertainment platform, celebrating fashion’s role at the intersection of culture.

To deliver this new proposition, the event’s format will change to include awards, performances and will highlight unique cultural moments from the past year. The 2021 accolades include fifteen Leaders of Change; the designers, brands, creatives, and individuals who created positive change within the fashion industry this past year under three categories: Environment, People and Creativity. The eagerly-anticipated Designer of the Year Award and the BFC Foundation Award will both have five nominees each and a winner, revealed on the night. Other awards include the Outstanding Achievement Award and the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.

The Fashion Awards presented by TikTok will provide global streaming and platform amplification and bespoke content creation as well as deeper cultural connectivity, telling this year’s stories that highlight the collaboration between fashion, music, film, art and technology. The iconic Fashion Awards Red Carpet will be a focal point, with TikTok bringing the experience and excitement to a global audience via a LIVE broadcast, which will utilise the unique TikTok tools and features to drive real-time engagement, offering the TikTok community and beyond, the opportunity to experience The Fashion Awards Red Carpet like never before.

The Fashion Awards Red Carpet livestream will be broadcasted on the newly launched Fashion Awards TikTok account. Follow @TheFashionAwards and #FashionAwards on TikTok for news, updates and all of the evening’s major highlight moments.

Additional activations will include content from the event from some of the biggest TikTok Creators and exclusive backstage access to the Winners and Presenters of The Fashion Awards 2021.

Caroline Rush, BFC Chief Executive commented: “We are thrilled to welcome TikTok as the Principal Partner of The Fashion Awards 2021. Understanding the changing nature of fashion and leading the way in technology and innovation has always been at the heart of what the British Fashion Council does. As The Fashion Awards return on November 29th, we look forward to working with TikTok on expanding the event’s global reach, opening it up to new audiences and celebrating exceptional individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the global fashion community.”

Rich Waterworth, General Manager, TikTok Europe, said: “We are delighted to be the Principal Partner for The Fashion Awards. This iconic event and evening of entertainment will be LIVE streamed on TikTok, allowing our community to experience the magic of the Red Carpet like never before, as we take a moment to celebrate the very best of British and international fashion culture. This year fashion has thrived on TikTok, from our partnership with BFC NEWGEN which saw the future of British design talent come to TikTok to share their creativity, to the emergence of unique trends and style movements ignited by our creator community. Fashion really has found a home on TikTok.”

The Fashion Awards presented by TikTok raises funds for the BFC Foundation (Registered Charity Number: 1185152) which supports the future growth and success of the British fashion industry by focusing on Talent, Education, Grant-Giving and Business Mentoring and aims to improve equality and opportunity so that the fashion industry remains diverse and open to all, helping talented designers at all stages of their career from school level through to becoming a global fashion brand. In 2020/21, the BFC raised £1.7 million for the BFC Foundation, and its talent support initiatives and this year the charity supported 33 designers.

The generosity and commitment of our partners, suppliers and supporters is more vital than ever. Please help us by acknowledging their support alongside our Principal Partner: TikTok; Official Partners American Express, Getty Images, Moët & Chandon, Royal Salute and The Londoner for their ongoing support.
