RAINBOW PASTA FOR PRIDE MONTH
This weekend will see London bedecked in rainbows to celebrate Pride, but the party doesn’t have to stay on the streets. Danilo Cortellini, Head Chef at the Italian Embassy has the perfect recipe to make sure your dinner table is bedecked in rainbows too!
Danilo is the creator of Rainbow Pasta, a dish that couldn’t be more perfect to impress your guests this Pride as multicoloured flags fly not just through London this weekend but throughout the UK all summer-long.
Danilo’s recipe from his cookbook ‘4 Grosvenor Square – The Menu of the Italian Embassy London’ includes four different flavoured pastas, rolled out to create the most magnificently vibrant, striped pasta to be made into beautiful Tortellini stuffed with Burrata.
This dish works so beautifully with a fresh tomato sauce with ricotta and shavings of pecorino.
This dish might be a show-stopper but it’ll be a sure win to get the Pride party started.

TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR BUNS
WAGAMAMA TO DONATE TO LGBT+ CHARITIES: ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SIT ON A BENCH
WAGAMAMA is celebrating Pride UK by installing rainbow benches that will raise funds for charities as part of its year-long #makeitrainbow campaign in support of LGBT+ charities.
Every time someone sits on the vibrant bench, profits from any steamed buns purchased will be donated. The brand sells approximately 1,000,000 Japanese steamed buns per year across the UK, and this initiative aims to raise £12,500 for the chosen charities.
Londoners are encouraged to go to wagamama’s noodle lab restaurant in the heart of Soho to sit their bums down and enjoy one of the UK’s biggest pride. Wagamama has internally championed inclusiveness, acceptance and difference since its launch in 1992. Its ‘no clone’ hiring policy encourages colleagues to embrace who they are and not conform to a stereotype employee.
After a successful first year, with over £7,500 raised across three cities for three charities, Wagamama wants the #makeitrainbow campaign to be bigger and better with five cities taking part in this year’s movement.
Personal placemats with the teams’ loud and proud statements will top the whole campaign to share more positive and inspiring stories across the UK.
This year the #makeitrainbow campaign will support the following local charities:
- Birmingham – SIFA fireside
- Brighton – Rainbow Fund
- Edinburgh – LGBT youth
- London – London Friend
- Manchester – George’s House
London Pride provides a platform for every part of London’s LGBT+ community to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow them to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. This year more than a million people will march through Central London to support London Pride.
Andre Johnstone, Wagamama said: “After the success of last year’s #makeitrainbow campaign, we wanted to reach further and wider. Including an additional three cities as part of our campaign is the best way to shout louder about our support for the LGBT+ community. We’ve always supported our staff when it comes to Pride and this year is no different.”
