Venice Film Festival 2020 The first film festival to take place since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
There were no masks in sight on the red carpet at the 2020 Venice Film Festival, being held live and in person in Venice – the first film festival to take place since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
Tilda Swinton rocked the red carpet in a bright banana-coloured pantsuit. Swinton was there promoting her short film ’The Human Voice’ – an upcoming Spanish-American short drama film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, based upon the play of the same name by Jean Cocteau. It stars Tilda Swinton. Earlier in the week Swinton picked up the festivals’ Lifetime achievement award for her work in film, which includes memorable performances in ’The Grand Budapest Hotel,’ ‘A Bigger Splash,’ ‘Orlando’ and most recently ’The Souvenir.’ Swinton looked smart and trendy with her red hair and white top with soapy white skin – she’s one actress who always looks her best, whether or not on the red carpet.
Cate Blanchett, President of the film jury at the Venice Film Festival, looked absolutely stunning in a navy Esteban Cortazar free-flowing gown. The gown featured black sequins and a white trim, but to be honest anything Blanchett wears she will always look stunning. The 77th Venice Film Festival ends on September 12th. Blanchett will next be seen on the big screen in the film ‘Pinocchio.’ Well she won’t actually be seen but will be heard as ‘Pinocchio’ is an animated film.
