Zip up! These autumn and winter jackets are all the rage.

What jackets for autumn and winter 2022 made the greatest impression at fashion showsWe are only just enjoying our summer, so it’s a little premature to be worrying about winter, or is it? For millions, winter is the perfect season to wear their favorite Ted Baker jackets, and don’t forget about those chilly autumn nights where a light jacket will keep you going. For 2022, some jackets made an impression that we will feel for years to come, and many of them were first seen on fashion runways. If you are looking to up your fashion jacket game this autumn and winter, look no further because we have the list that’s going to give you all the inspiration you need.

    Flight jackets

Worn by Air Force pilots the world over, flight outerwear is an iconic fashion statement and will never go out of style. For 2022, we saw luxe updates on the catwalk from designer houses such as Ellie Saab, Prada, and LaQuan Smith – Prada revamped the flight jacket for the runway. Then fashion houses such as Isabel Marant, Raf Simons, and Sacai gave us some oversized flight jackets that are truly next level. Even in their normal state, flight jackets are great to wear and go with just about anything. Fun fact: In some parts of the world, it is also called a bomber jacket and has been a staple item of clothing since the 80s, particularly in South Africa. This staple winter garb mostly comes in leather and nylon.

    Fringe-styled

Look, we are all for mixing up textures and patterns and then adding a dash of sparkle to make your look stand out, and you can do this with a fringe. Remember that fringe detail is an awesome addition to any everyday outfit, so why not wear a coat with a fringe? While you can find just about any clothing item with a fringe, coats just look so much better when they have one. As seen on the runway and in the fashion streets, popular colors include tan since tan is much easier to pair with multiple colors and styles.

    Fringe styledDenims

There is absolutely no way we can not include denim jackets in this list. As seen at New York Fashion Week 2022, denim was a standout star. Women’s designer brand Alice + Olivia took it upon themselves to reignite the denim flame by adding painterly strokes of red, blue, orange, and green to white denim with distressed details. Furthermore, their denim coats make quite a statement since they look like a long shirt but are oh so fashionable. When in doubt, grab a denim jacket.

    Hot pink

Now, we are looking not only at the unique styles but also the colors that are hot. Hot pink has made its appearance, and Versace is primarily to thank for this since the fashion house started to incorporate the color last year. Hot Pink is considered the color of Barbie, the toy doll many of us grew up playing with, and since a live-action Barbie film is in the works, it makes complete sense that we are now seeing hot pink in just about everything, most notably, jackets. No style has been left unmarked so think long bubble coats, parkas, bomber jackets, quilted coats, and so much more.

    Biker

The runway is showing us flames. This next staple was inspired by the biker scene from the 70s and 80s. It’s edgy, stylish, and can be worn with just about anything. There are even some go-to colors and styles as the red, black, and white combination, but you are more than welcome to step out in a lime green biker jacket and still look great. Further to this, an out-there style is the knee-length racer coats. They work well for a wet winter’s day and can easily be worn with rain boots and a cute updo hairstyle. And if you need some inspiration, check out your favorite celebrity and how they style them. 10 out of 10 would recommend it.

    Biker

    Feathered

If you are into bold, outlandish, and being extra, then this one is for you. Feathered coats are peak fashion statement pieces, and we couldn’t be happier. They are warm, look gorgeous, and are quite practical. You can dress them down or up, and since there are no rules, you can pretty much wear them how you want. They are great for both autumn and winter and come in some classic colors such as black and tan.
