Culture vultures – In the capital city of San Jose alone there are several museums and galleries that offer a keen insight into the history of the country and its inhabitants. The culturally rich country also prides itself on its live music and theatre productions and local indigenous tribes also open themselves up for tourists on certain days, allowing access to a world that precious few have managed to experience. Culture tours in Costa Rica are often affordable, insightful and varied, but they often book up fast so be sure to sign up before you set off.
Amazing adventures – A typical Costa Rica holiday is all about adventure, with thrill-seekers from across the world visiting the country every year to sample its white-knuckle delights. From the every-popular canopy zip-lining tours to waterfall hikes, white water rafting and more, you’ll certainly find something to scratch your adventurous itch. Areas like Arenal and Rincon de la Vieja also offer package tours that include a variety of different options and Samara and Nosara are famous for their water sports.
Beach life – If you are something of a beach bunny – you’ll be in heaven, as Costa Rica has over 800 miles of shoreline with a relaxed atmosphere and bright blue waters. Puerto Viejo boasts some truly spectacular black-sand beaches, whilst if you fancy something a little more traditional, Manuel Antonio offers beaches on par with anything in the Caribbean.
There are plenty of other reasons to consider Costa Rica. From the coffee (it is one of the coffee-growing capitals of the world, after all) to the natural wonders and volcanoes. The real reason to visit Costa Rica, however, above all else, is the people. They are world-renowned for their generosity and will go out of their way to make you feel like you belong.
