Zurich, June 3, 2026 — The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is expanding its cultural offering with the launch of ZFF Genuss Film, a new event series that combines world-class gastronomy with cinema. Created in partnership with the Genuss Film Festival Zug (GFF) and supported by premium Alpine destination Andermatt Swiss Alps as Presenting Partner, the initiative will debut during the 2026 Zurich Film Festival.

The three-day event, taking place from September 30 to October 2, 2026, will bring together award-winning chefs, carefully selected films, and exclusive culinary experiences designed to engage all the senses.
Among the renowned chefs confirmed for the inaugural edition are André Kaiser, Director of Culinary at The Chedi Andermatt; celebrated chef duo Dominik Sato and Fabio Toffolon, known as “The Twins” and Executive Chefs of The Japanese by The Chedi Andermatt; Valentin Sträuli, Head Chef at IGNIV Andermatt; and Michelin-starred chef Niklas Oberhofer, founder of noEvents and Atelier 6.
According to ZFF CEO Christian Jungen, the new format reflects the strong connection between film and dining. “Food has always been an integral part of the Zurich Film Festival,” he said. “Together with the Genuss Film Festival Zug, we are delighted to celebrate Zurich’s gastronomic culture through a new series that brings cinema and cuisine together while offering our audience the opportunity to engage with some of the country’s most outstanding chefs.”
The event will begin each evening at Arena Cinemas Sihlcity, where guests will watch a curated film exploring themes of food, gastronomy, and enjoyment. The experience will then continue at Papiersaal Zurich, where attendees will enjoy an exclusive four-course menu prepared by the featured chefs, accompanied by live discussions, behind-the-scenes insights, and opportunities for personal interaction.
Matthias Luchsinger, Director of the Genuss Film Festival Zug, said the concept builds on the festival’s long-standing mission of creating multisensory experiences. “The Genuss Film Festival has always been about engaging all the senses. First comes immersion in a culinary film, followed by extraordinary gastronomic experiences and concluding with our ‘Food for Thoughts’ conversations,” he said.
As the official Alpine Guest Destination of the event, Andermatt Swiss Alps will showcase its reputation as one of Switzerland’s premier luxury destinations. Located at 1,444 metres above sea level, Andermatt is renowned for its high-end hospitality, exceptional dining scene, and concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants.
Niklas Oberhofer and his company noEvents will oversee the culinary infrastructure and kitchen logistics for the new format. Oberhofer, who became Switzerland’s youngest Michelin-starred chef during his career, will also participate in one of the evenings by presenting one of his signature dishes.
Organizers describe ZFF Genuss Film as a new sensory dimension within the Zurich Film Festival, celebrating storytelling, gastronomy, and human connection through a unique blend of cinematic and culinary excellence.
