Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures have officially announced the European premiere of F1® The Movie, the adrenaline-charged action feature starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick). The film races into cinemas and IMAX worldwide — including UK cinemas — on 25 June 2025.
Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Joseph Kosinski, seven-time F1® world champion Lewis Hamilton, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Chad Oman, F1® The Movie brings Hollywood power and real-world racing together like never before. Shot during actual Grand Prix weekends, the film blends cinematic drama with the real speed and intensity of FORMULA 1®.
Brad Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a once-promising F1® phenom whose career was derailed by a devastating crash in the 1990s. Decades later, Sonny returns to the track after being recruited by former teammate Ruben Cervantes (played by Javier Bardem) to help save his struggling F1® team. Paired with fiery rookie Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris), Sonny must battle not only high-speed rivals but his own past.
The star-studded cast also includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Kim Bodnia. With a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, and music composed by Hans Zimmer, the film promises a thrilling mix of intense racing, emotional stakes, and world-class visuals.
Behind the scenes, the film reunites Kosinski with his Top Gun: Maverick cinematographer Claudio Miranda, editor Stephen Mirrione, and production designers Mark Tildesley and Ben Munro.
F1® The Movie is an Apple Original Film produced by Monolith Pictures, Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Plan B Entertainment, and Dawn Apollo Films, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Catch the film in UK cinemas and across the globe starting 25 June 2025.
