The Cultural Style Week London Expo in partnership with Cultural Fashion & Arts, was a resounding success, attracting over 2000 attendees across the day.
The event included a six hour programme hosted by BBC Asia radio host Nayha, the official presenter for Cultural Style Week UK. Her energy kept the audience engaged throughout the day.
Spread across two floors, the Cultural Style Week Expo at the Mall Wood Green, in the heart of North London – offered the attendees a unique blend of multiple fashion shows, shopping opportunities, information stalls, networking, photo sessions, and a delightful food experience from the Bridge Food Hall within the shopping centre.
The entertainment programme kicked off with the ‘My Cultural Style Children’s Fashion Show’ with adorable young participants who charmed the audience with their cultural attire. The children, including the Windsor Princess Sheona, charmed the audience with their cultural outfits, walking the runway with confidence and grace.
The Segatastic Dancers, a UK-based Sega Troupe dedicated to showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Mauritius through dance.
The ‘Kazakh National Dresses: From Cradle to Wisdom’ show by The Kazakh Centre in the UK provided a captivating glimpse into the beauty of Kazakh culture.
The showcase featured traditional costumes representing different stages of life, from childhood to old age, highlighting the heritage and traditions of the Kazakh community.
The ‘Underdogs Become Icons’ show by Can’t Stop Fashion was a celebration of undiscovered creative talent. Launched in 2020, Can’t STOP Fashion (CSF) showcased a diverse array of designers, including Fée Uhssi, Ewa London, Taiino, Nghart25, Diane Goldie, DAESP Brand, and Kiannara Hazine. Each designer brought their unique cultural aesthetics and individual expressions to the stage.
Between shows attendees were able to support diverse vendors and buy cultural fashion and beauty items for Cultural Style Week and beyond.
The Tajikistan Community, supported by the Embassy of Tajikistan, presented a stunning cultural showcase featuring live music and traditional dresses. Their showcase highlighted the beauty and heritage of Tajikistan, captivating the audience with performances on the traditional dutar and showcasing intricate national dresses.
The grand finale, ‘Cultural Expressions’, was a spectacular mix of cultural fashion, music, and dance. The show featured performances by saxophonist Koye Sax, Yijia Tu and Gift Of Africa. Showcasing designers included Ethnicity Clothing, Shaykara, Noor by Nafeesa, Sakafet London, MAC Store London, Ikono & Reis, and Lolly by Lolita.
There was also a performance by Yijia, a Chinese multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer, who captivated the audience with her wonderful talent.
The Cultural Style Week London Expo, although the first ever, was a huge success and a day of celebration, bringing together people from various backgrounds to embrace and showcase their heritage through fashion, music, and art.
