In a world often divided between intellect and aesthetics, Lorenzo Bernaudo is the exception that shatters the rule. A towering frame, the broadest of shoulders, with the kind of chiseled elegance that turns heads on catwalks and city streets alike, the 43-year-old Italian model exudes a timeless charisma. Dark-haired, strikingly handsome, and impeccably poised, he’s the definition of Mediterranean allure. But don’t be fooled—behind that cinematic visage lies a sharp mind, steady hands, and a career that demands far more than a perfect jawline.
Equally relaxed in front of the camera and as a dedicated medical professional, Bernaudo lives a life that fuses beauty and brawn with brains. His dual identity is more than a novelty—it’s a testament to the fact you can follow more than one dream in life. For Bernaudo, beauty is not just skin-deep, and success is measured in both integrity and purpose.
FAB UK introduces the healing hands of high fashion – Dr Lorenzo Bernaudo.
Lorenzo, you’ve got quite the unique double life—model by day, surgeon by… also day? Tell us how your journey in medicine began.
My journey with medicine began a long time ago. From a very early age I had a fascination with human anatomy and physiology. I was lucky enough to take this intrigue and passion into a fulfilling career, starting in medical school and progressing to general and emergency surgery. Modelling however started much later in my life, actually when I hit 40.
From scalpels to spotlights—what inspired you to step into the world of modelling?
I think my Italian heritage has a lot to do with it. I am naturally passionate about clothing, gentlemanly lifestyle and elegance. Moreover, the creativity of this job is the aspect I most enjoy. Working with passionate and interesting people and bringing a vision to life is really exciting.
You’ve already walked some exciting paths—what’s been the biggest “pinch-me” moment in your modelling career so far?
I think the first time I ever saw myself in a magazine was both memorable and satisfying. Seeing the pictures I had created with the very talented photographer gave me a real sense of validation. Totally different from my career as a surgeon, it gave me confidence to know that these two different sides of my personality could be expressed and enjoyed.
Where do you see this modelling adventure taking you next? What’s the dream scenario?
When I was growing up I looked at people in magazines and movies and they inspired me. To get the opportunity to now be the person bringing creative visions and stories to life is both a passion and a privilege. To grow in the industry and continue to do this, as both a model and an actor, is the dream scenario.
Speaking of dreams—are there any brands or designers that top your collaboration wish list?
Of course, being a proud Italian man, I would love to work with the likes of Dolce&Gabbana, Armani and Versace. While my everyday style is more relaxed and I wear a lot of All Saints clothing, so it would be great to work with them. Also, I must confess I have a penchant for beautiful, luxury Swiss watches, but who doesn’t?
When you’re off-duty, away from the scrubs and cameras, what lights you up? What keeps you grounded?
In my spare time, I am a passionate athlete, training hard as a water polo player, in the swimming pool and in the gym. I also like to keep my mind sharp, refreshing my knowledge in ancient languages, history and philosophy.
And finally, what’s next on the horizon for you? Any exciting projects we should keep our eyes on?
I am very pleased to say I am truly enjoying this period of my life, when there are so many exciting possibilities. There are projects that I am not at liberty to discuss, however, I can say that whether it is personal or professional, I am at the stage in life where if I am healthy and happy, I feel fulfilled.
