Fashion isn’t just about style it’s about how we live, how we move, and how we feel in our own skin. For Chinese designer and creative pattern maker Huili Jin, fashion is more than an art form; it’s a practical language that connects people and solves everyday challenges. Her work is grounded in three powerful pillars: inclusivity, functionality, and sustainability values that guide her every stitch and silhouette.
“Inclusive fashion is meaningful and necessary,” Huili explains. “It’s not just about how clothes look it’s about how they help people.”

A New Kind of Fit: Designing for Seated Dressing
In one of her most thought-provoking projects to date, Huili turned her attention to a question few designers consider: How do you put on pants when you can’t stand up?
Working in close collaboration with Zander Cossham, a model and wheelchair user, Huili set out to rethink fashion from the seated position not as an afterthought, but as the starting point. Her mission was clear: to design pants that are not only stylish but make dressing independently easier, more comfortable, and dignified.
Reinventing the Basics Top Down
The result is an ingeniously reimagined pair of pants that can be worn from the top down a revolutionary twist on a basic garment. No standing. No awkward shifting. No asking for help. Just function, freedom, and fashion, working hand in hand.
Every detail reflects thoughtful design:
- Breathable, comfortable fabrics that feel good all day
- Smart seam placement to avoid pressure points
- Adaptive techniques that simplify putting on and taking off
The final piece is as elegant as it is empowering a sleek, modern design that champions independence without compromising style.
