LONDON — September 21, 2026 — British luxury house AADNEVIK has revealed its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled “Persephone: Between Paradise and the Underworld.” Helmed by co-designers Hila and Kristian Aadnevik, the brand’s latest offering draws directly from classic Greek mythology, exploring themes of rebirth, metamorphosis, and feminine authority.
The collection translates Persephone’s journey—from the innocent goddess of spring to the formidable Queen of the Underworld—into a contrast of ethereal fabrics and sharp structural tailoring.
“Persephone is the romantic heroine of this collection; a woman caught between innocence and darkness, fragility and power,” said Hila and Kristian Aadnevik. “We were fascinated by her transformation. She begins surrounded by flowers and sunlight, descends into a mysterious world beneath the earth, and returns changed. There is something incredibly beautiful in the contrast between the young goddess of spring and the woman who becomes Queen of the Underworld.”
From Light to Shadow: The Visual Narrative
AADNEVIK structures the SS27 collection around three distinct stylistic phases that mirror Persephone’s descent and reign:
- Innocence & Awakening: The runway opens with floating silk chiffon, sheer tulle, and French lace in porcelain white, ivory, soft blush, and botanical hues. Handcrafted floral appliqués and crystal detailing mimic morning dew, establishing a weightless, light-filled aesthetic.
- The Metamorphosis: Structure enters the garments as silk corsetry and finely braided leather gradually constrain the delicate silhouettes. Floral embroideries darken, and the color story shifts dramatically from pale tones to deep pomegranate red, midnight blue, and black.
- Queen of the Underworld: The pomegranate acts as the central motif of the collection’s climax. Deep crimson crystals, heavy jewel-toned embroideries, and intricate hand-beading scatter across black lace and sculpted leather corsets—symbolizing both power and permanent transformation.
By contrasting delicate vulnerability with dark seduction, the SS27 lineup delivers a modern portrait of duality. As the designers noted: “From darkness, she blooms again.”
