Interview with designer Danny Wise
Please could you tell us about your background and how it leads to the work you do today?
My education is on sport medicine (sport doctor) however I have been working in the fashion industry for many years – I was model since 1992 thereafter I become working in Fashion and Luxury items – currently I’m the President and Designer of the House of high fashion and luxury in Italy, I manage all the ideas, products, press, distribution, and I own many stores and obviously I’m the head of Danny Wise – Haute Couture.
Where are you base?
I’m based in Italy, but I travel and I do business all around the world.
How would you describe your work to someone who hasn’t seen it before?
It is very complicated to describe passion , I will say that the first step in be a designer is not only about drawing but is to indulge in the great sense of the beauty , sense of the bodies of what a person must wear , is to explore the deep sense of how my garments will fit to my clients individually – to be in their world , understand the cultural , social , etc. even in the temperature of the place the move , and the very life of each of my clients , and this is only the 1° step , …. Will be too long story to tell you what my work really intakes but it is a major task to coordinate a Maison that has 1100 people in 123 factories-currently my works involves more than 16 hours a day – every day of the year.
Who else it’s behind your brand?
I have a vast group of people working for me – publicist – PR – workers –A Selected group of individuals behind my brand and they work with a lot of sacrifice, honesty, talent, and love for this very beautiful yet difficult work.
Which project have you enjoyed working on the most so far?
Bringing the Danny Wise brand to 5 continents and be in one of the top Maison of haute couture Worldwide of the 3* millennium, now I’m working for the immortality of the brand.
Who has been the most famous person you have work with/ made shoes/ garments for?
Can be the President of USA Mr Ronal Regan, actors like July Fisher , Jody Foster , singer like MariahCarey -LizaMinnelli ,Barry White, FrankSinatra, Salma Hayek to name few.

What or who has been the biggest singular influence on your work?
Women, colour and life.
But that the reality Is that every clients and every person that have worked with or for me are important – for me has more value one normal client , that maybe has worked 3 years just to pay one of my dress haute couture or bridal , as she value and have understood the value of my work .
Iremember one client , friend of my friends , that after telephoned and recommendation , she wanted one dress of DannyWise’s haute couture , but she was specific that wanted my presence in the fitting ,”that usually I don’t do” ;well we agreed and when the dress was perfect on her , I told her ,looking at the mirror , ok now is perfect you can go out for your special event and enjoy … she told , me crying , now have seen with my eyes , DannyWise is Danny Wise , as “you make a mosquitos woman into a shine star” , now I can die .
I was so humbled but the truth was that she was seriously ill, and her last wish was wear one Danny wise haute couture.“I told her go and be happy, this happiness will make her life longer. “ Those kinds of clients are the real gems in my career.
