Afternoon teas are by far becoming an affordable yet luxurious treat option when it comes to gifting or even just wanting to enjoy a special day out with your favourite people. Nestled in the heart of Woburn, Bedfordshire lies the stunning Woburn Coffee House. This coffee house is more than just your average tea shop, and as deceivingly small it may look to the eye from the outside, once you step through the doors, you are soon stunned at just how pretty, classic and where its overall beauty just takes your breath away…There are a few different rooms to dine in and where the laughter and chatter is forever brimming here, they really have made their mark.
Run by a wonderful couple, the coffee house has become more than just a place to enjoy your favourite cakes andcups of tea; it has evolved into a beloved community hub that brings people together. The coffee house is also available to host your wedding and where it certainly has carved out a special niche among local residents and visitors far and wide.
When you first step into the The Woburn Coffee House, it’s a very pleasant and homely feeling but with that extra touch of glam added, there is a very well dressed member of staff on hand to greet you with a smile and check you in and take you to your wonderful table. The décor is pure elegance and if you are booked to be dining in The Orangery, then you are in for a treat with the wonderful view of the gardens and beautiful chandeliers, there are many modern touches as well as comfortable seating, it’s a very joyful and special feeling dining at The Woburn Coffee House.
Another thing which I really loved was that the menu isn’t your traditional afternoon tea as such, and by that, I mean this is A LOT more exciting, and on 5 tiers. There are infact chefs in place putting together by hand not just cakes and pastries, but more so other savoury canapés and more varied sweet treats. It just a culinary adventure but one that is most enjoyable indeed! I have to say that I really enjoyed the Avocado and cream cheese in a poppy choux bagel topped with lemon purée and dill and the Malibu-soaked coconut Rum baba topped with a pineapple mint salsa.
There are a few different afternoon teas on hand, so there is of course the traditional afternoon tea, but if you are wanting something a little more special, then you can certainly opt for the Celebration Afternoon Tea which provides you the 5 tiered tea but with an extra platter served prior to this full of various savoury treats.
If you are vegetarian or have other dietary requirements, or if you are wanting to take children along, rest assured that there are options in place for these and these are very much welcomed and where the staff are very much on hand to please and work their magic so that your visit is every inch memorable and enjoyable.
Traditional Afternoon Tea is £37.95 per person and Celebration Afternoon Tea is £44.95 per person.
This must be one of the most exquisite and memorable tea’s that I have been to and where the village of Woburn is quite simply stunning to explore and where there are many exciting shops to explore.
Please do note that they are only open for Afternoon Tea on Weekends & Friday Afternoons with fixed sitting times.Generally, an Afternoon Tea sitting time lasts anywhere between two and two and half hours for the full enjoyable experience.
