The British Fashion Council (BFC) is delighted to announce the schedule for City-Wide Celebration taking place during London Fashion Week (LFW) presented by Clearpay from Friday 16th to Tuesday 20th September 2022. City-Wide Celebration is a curated programme of unique experiences and promotions open to the public throughout LFW, spearheaded by inclusivity and consciousness, moving the fashion conversation forward through industry wide participation and partnerships.
A dynamic cultural hotspot and incubator of ideas and change, London will once again encourage participation and increase accessibility, inspiring diverse communities with evergreen content accessible online and in person. City-Wide Celebration will offer over 450 events including designer Q&A sessions, workshops around Zero-Waste Craftsmanship and upcycling, live music performances and limited edition product drops in partnership with key retailers, cultural institutions and designer brands.
The Celebration will open with a special event curated with principal partner, Clearpay, on Friday 16th September. Taking place in Covent Garden and open to all, shoppers will have the opportunity to shop exclusive merchandise. In addition, look out for City-Wide activations throughout the city in renowned shopping destinations including Chelsea, Oxford Street, Covent Garden, and Regent Street as well as on the LFW Digital Hub.
New this season and with special thanks to Cadogan, Chelsea will host a Designer Picnic’ and sustainability showcase on Saturday 17th September from 10-4pm. Other highlights during the day include a ‘Stitch and Bitch’ session at Duke of York Square, a single-use plastic free Food Market featuring sustainable food pioneers, and brand activations from over 20 neighbourhood shops and restaurants.
Covent Garden is partnering with UK charity Smart Works to bring every fashion and beauty lover’s dream boutique to 20 Floral Street. The Smart Works x Covent Garden pop-up will stock a selection of the most exciting fashion brands including Ganni, Mulberry, Rixo, Theory, The Outnet, Rejina Pyo, Frame, Bobbi Brown at an exclusive discounted price, with 100% of proceeds going directly to Smart Works.
The Crown Estate will also be collaborating with the Lone Design Club on a pop up store, creating a unique series of events highlighting innovations in materials and manufacturing through upcycling, reuse, and rental.

Adidas LDN will present ‘Rhythm in Blue’ in collaboration with Lev3ls and Loop Magazine, to curate a unique event fusing music and fashion. Six hand picked artists performing live in the Flagship store will celebrate new fashion designers and music emerging out of London. This is a special limited invitation only event, and can be booked through the adiclub membership app.
Anciela
Saturday 17th September – Sunday 18th September
Anciela will create an interactive installation made with textile waste that promotes ways of upcycling. The aim is to invite the spectator to reflect and actively participate in the making of the main piece. The spectator then becomes part of the collective creative process. The pop-up will serve the dual purpose of informing and teaching by applying simple techniques of using textile waste to create and upcycle.
Beyond Retro

A sustainable fashion talk with a special panel of guests will be accompanied by food and drink, all sourced from sustainable brands, and an Eco-friendly gift bag will be gifted to all attendees. On day two a competition will be launched with the chance to win a £1000 voucher for a sustainable winter wardrobe. Weekend giveaways will follow, and customers will get the exciting chance to win prizes in store when spinning the sustainable fashion wheel.

Breathe a new lease of life to your old garments! A talented seamstress will be spending the day in the Brora London shops to show and teach how to stitch it… rather than ditch it, using her knowledge of color and pattern to sensitively repair damaged clothing with unique darning that celebrates imperfections rather than hiding them.

From East to West, Browns boutiques will house the latest designer collections from the best in emerging and established talent. In Mayfair, guests can enjoy a bespoke manicure with the team at Shoreditch Nails. After this they can explore the Browns beauty edit via the Immersive Room’s kitsch seventies-inspired bathroom of dreams. Native At Browns will be serving up their award-winning menu all week, an experience in ethical dining like no other. Times New Roadman will take over The Gallery at Browns East, showcasing latest trends via his artworks, which are all available to buy in store.

A dynamic series of events will commence with the launch of the Party Fashion Show Presentation and the auction of one off pieces handmade from upcycled textiles from archive seasons, antique and deadstock fabrics. During day two the shop will be open all day for guests to experience the universe of the brand and to meet the designer. Day three will involve a workshop: “Remnants” A democratic diffusion line with a design process that focuses on Zero-Waste Craftsmanship. Finally, an exhibition of present and archival brand imagery will close the celebrations.
