A small town in southern Italy is shaken by the death of Maria La Torre, a very young dancer who died of anorexia. As if tied by an invisible thread, her classmate, Ester seems destined for the same fate as Maria.

 

Lorenzo Tiberia is an Italian director and screenwriter. He has an active presence on the web through his own group “Actual” of which he is the founder, author and director, creating web series that have reached 20 million views in just six months. He has produced commercials and branded content for large companies such as Tim, Mercedes, Poste Italiane and RedBull as well as creating promotional material for upcoming films and series on behalf of major film distribution companies such as Disney, Netflix, Vision Distribution, 20th Century, Fox, Warner Bros, Lucky Red, Notorious Pictures and Eagle Pictures. His short film “The Queen falls asleep Where She Wants” (“La Regina si Addormenta Dove Vuole”) starring Elena Cotta (Coppa Volpi in Venice in 2013), which he wrote and directed, garnered 30 international film festival selections and 7 awards: four for best film, one for best director, one for best screenplay and one for best soundtrack. The film reached a second place at the Giffoni Film Festival in the Parental Experience category and was presented at the Rome Film Festival in the Alice nella Città section. It competed at the ECU – The European Independent Film Festival 2020, one of the most important European film festivals dedicated to short films.

Sofia D’Elia (Ester) is a new face in the film industry, making her mark in TUTU as well as playing Frank in upcoming HILL OF VISION. She has received accolades for her role in TUTU from various film festivals.   

Producer of Tutu, Mariapia Autorino is the co-founder of PREM1ERE s.r.l, a film production and distribution company, where she acts as a producer and distributor of short films. She originally trained in acting before transitioning to production. In 2019, she was executive producer for THE NEST – IL NIDO, a feature film directed by Roberto De Feo, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and was released in more than 230 Italian theatres. In 2020, the film aired on Sky television. In 2022 she was executive producer of his second feature film, METAMORPHOSIS, directed by Michele Fasano and produced by Sattva Film with the support of MEDIA Europa Creativa, MIC DG Cinema Emilia Romagna and Apulia Film Commission. Prem1ere Film is present in the main international Cinema markets: Cannes, Locarno, Venice, Clermont Ferrand, Ventana Sur.

Producer of Tutu, Saverio Pesapane is the co-founder of PREM1ERE s.r.l, In 2008 he wrote A Water Tale, a short film included in “Stories on Human Rights“, a film made up of 22 short films commissioned by the United Nations for the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In the same year he wrote Aral Citytellers, produced by Art for the World, a documentary shot in Kazakhstan, on the Aral Sea. In 2009 he wrote Dubai Citytellers, produced by Unicredit & Art, a documentary shot in Dubai on neo-slavism. Between 2011 and 2012 he wrote and directed It’s countryside, a documentary shot in the Nile Valley and Cairo, Egypt, produced by the Rotterdam Architecture Biennale. Since 2017 he has been a partner of Premiere Film, a film production and distribution company, which in 2019 was in charge of the executive production of The Nest, a feature film produced by Colorado Film in collaboration with Vision Distribution. He teaches at NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.
