    FAB UK Review:

Dune: Part 2 lives up to the hype.

Yes, Dune is back and it feels like it just last month when we saw the first one – but it was actually in 2021, and when that ended I couldn’t wait for the sequel – well it’s now here and of course it’s brilliant.

Dune: Part 2 continues the story of Paul Atreides (Chalamet), a man who was born with a destiny larger than life. He is the son of the noble Duke Leto of Atreides, and he has to adapt to life on Arrakis, his family’s new dominion.  And Dune; Part 2 is just as amazing as the first one and of course it’s the special effects that equal the first. Yes the sand caterpillars are back but in a different context, and so is the beautiful landscapes and spaceships, the vast blue skies, everything. The sets, as expected, are larger than life, the scale is off the charts, the acting takes second seat to it all.

At 2 hours and 20 minutes, it goes by very fast – it is that mesmerizing. Zanadeya is back as Paul’s love interest, an unrecognisable Austin Butler is enemy number 1, Christopher Walken, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh, it’s an endless cast. And you’ll definitely want another Dune – and you’ll know the answer to this question when the film is over.

Dune: Part 2 reviews have topped 2021’s brilliant Dune: Part One, and let’s hope it makes more money than the flacid Barbie.
Director Denis Villeneuve’s deserves an Oscar – pronto! He brings storytelling to a different level.
