The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that actor-writer-comedians Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang will host the live announcement of the 97th Oscars® nominations on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The event will begin at 5:30 a.m. PST and will be broadcast globally across multiple platforms, including Oscar.com, Oscars.org, and the Academy’s social media channels such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
The nominations will cover all 23 Academy Award® categories, split into two groups. Group A will be announced at 5:30 a.m. PST and include categories like Actor in a Supporting Role, Animated Short Film, and Writing (Adapted Screenplay). Group B, starting at 5:41 a.m. PST, will feature major awards such as Actor in a Leading Role, Best Picture, and Directing.
Viewers can catch the live stream via ABC News Live, Disney+, Hulu, and other national broadcast networks. Live captioning will also be available for accessibility.
The Oscars® ceremony itself will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby® Theatre in Hollywood. It will air live on ABC and Hulu and be broadcast to more than 200 territories worldwide.
