‘Smile’ won’t make you smile.
The new horror flick, which just arrived into cinemas with a big thud, borrows from so many previously done formulas that it’s just incredible the filmmakers decided to go through with this, and that paramount has decided to distribute it.
The silly premise is that when someone has a sinister smile they are somehow possessed and will immediately kill the nearest person. So why would anyone stick around when they’re next to a smiler? It’s like the day of the dead without the thrill or horror!!
After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality. But the reality is that this film is utterly not scary and not good. And it’s a mystery why this film has been a box office hit. Could it be that there is nothing else on that people want to see so they have chosen ’Smile’? (‘Don’t Worry Darling’ is so so much better, please see that instead). But there is just one sure thing, you won’t be smiling after you spend good money on paying to see this film, you will frowning!
’Smile’ is now out in UK cinemas.
