Marrakech is set to host an exceptional evening where fashion and gastronomy—two pillars of Moroccan culture since time immemorial—come together for a unique celebration on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at the Museum of Moroccan Culinary Art.
The event will open with an exhibition of antique caftans, offering a journey through the history of this iconic garment. This visual prelude will be followed by a fashion show featuring caftans from private collections, showcasing the richness and diversity of Moroccan traditional dress.
The runway will then welcome traditional Azerbaijani dresses, created by talented designers and presented by Nargis Magazine, a leading fashion and lifestyle media outlet in Azerbaijan.
The spotlight will then turn to contemporary creation:
- Wafaa Idrissi will unveil caftans where tradition blends seamlessly with a bold, modern aesthetic.
- Mina Binebine will present designs with contemporary lines subtly infused with the essence and detail of Moroccan craftsmanship, offering a thoroughly modern vision of feminine elegance.
The enchanting sounds of Andalusian music will elevate the atmosphere, providing a melodic backdrop that evokes wonder and emotion. To crown this cultural celebration, guests will enjoy a gourmet cocktail reception, featuring a refined selection of authentic Moroccan flavors, prepared with the utmost respect for culinary traditions passed down through generations.
Organized by the Association La Route de la Soie et d’Al-Andalus, the event is part of a larger project to promote textile heritage, intercultural dialogue and support for contemporary creativity. “Fashion of Yesterday and Today” strengthens ties between Morocco and Azerbaijan, providing a platform for visibility and exchange for creatives from the two countries.
