AjiBèkè showcased its contemporary interpretation of African fashion at African Fashion Week London 2026, drawing on Yoruba heritage, symbolism and storytelling to create designs for the modern global woman.

The brand was born from the shared vision of two sisters who dreamed of building a timeless fashion label together. Following the death of one of the sisters, AjiBèkè has continued as a tribute to her memory and creative spirit. Each piece is intended to reflect the values of resilience, love and sisterhood that shaped the original vision behind the brand.
The name AjiBèkè itself brings together the identities of the two sisters, representing themes of unity, legacy and continuity. These ideas remain central to the brand’s approach, with its garments designed to carry cultural and personal meaning beyond their function as clothing.
Rooted in Yoruba culture, AjiBèkè incorporates traditional African textiles and techniques into contemporary luxury silhouettes. Materials including aso-oke, adire, raffia and batik are reinterpreted through modern tailoring and hand-finished details.
The brand also places emphasis on ethical production and responsible sourcing, combining traditional influences with a contemporary approach to fashion.
At African Fashion Week London 2026, AjiBèkè presented a collection that connected African heritage with modern design, using fashion as a means of preserving cultural identity while expressing themes of strength, sisterhood and cultural pride.
