Island vibes and the taste of the Carribbean from Turtle Bay.

Northamptonshire has a lot of beauty attached to it from its scenic and leafy surroundings, but when it comes to dining out, there is certainly a vast array of restaurants to choose from for that perfect day or night out.
If you are after something a little more exotic and tasty, Turtle Bay offers this and more, hosting an exciting menu full of mouth watering dishes that you want to enjoy again and again.

    Turtle Bay

Situated in the heart of Northampton, Turtle Bay is definitely a restaurant that brings the party anytime of the day, offering authentic Caribbean cuisine, big tunes, and a perfect collection of cocktails and mocktails to suit all tastes.

The appetizers are a must and when it comes to dining out and I always love to try a selection of dishes, so the sharing platters were the perfect go to especially if there are a few of you enjoying. This meaty platter contained four of probably the best, most popular appetizers, and I have to say, this platter was absolutely delicious!!! The platter contained a portion of calamari, jerk pit wings, pulled chicken Trini doubles and some jerk cheesy fries. I have to say that the flavours of this platter were something else, packed with punchy flavours of sweet, chilli and pickled, and just overall stunning tastes. The wings were meaty and a medium spice, the calamari was the perfect rings accompanied with a sweet mango chilli sauce. Also in the platter was the cheesy jerk fries, these were coated in cheese and the most tasty jerk sauce and this combination was so moreish. Last but by no means least on the platter was the trini doubles, these were again, probably the pinnacle of the board and packed with all sorts of excitement and flavours. With the hits of sweet pineapple, coriander, pulled jerk chicken and pickled vegetables, it left me wanting more. Everything was so delicious but these Trini doubles were everything!!!! Other appetizers on the menu were the sweetcorn fritters (a great vegetarian option) and a few more choices.

Island vibes and the taste of the Carribbean from Turtle Bay

Moving onto the mains, whether you are after something off the fire pit, a healthier option or the authenticity of a Caribbean curry, everything is available for you to enjoy.
A favourite of mine was the half jerk chicken, this is served with rice and peas or spiced fries. You can upgrade to the cheesy jerk fries for a little extra. If you are like me and love your food extra spicy, checkout the sauces on the tables as these are a great addition to the dishes.

The food portions are worth mentioning as they are more than enough and are perfectly presented. Another favourite and must try is the Goat Curry, tender pieces of goat in a medium spiced curry sauce served with rice and peas. The curry is garnished with red chilli and the goat literally melts in your mouth.

Turtle Bay have an outstanding collection of cocktails and mocktails and have now launched a few more goodies to enjoy. If you love your cocktails like me and love something more classic bit where they never fade, sip on the Koko Kolada and wanting to experience something new, I’d definitely recommend the Berry Blitz, this one is not only beautiful to look at but it contains black cherry, blackberry liqueur, strawberry, fresh mint, & club soda. It was a real treat!

There is a large selection available for those into rum, vodka, tequila and more.
If you wanting something non alcoholic, you are by no means missing out as Turtle Bay have a great selection, and I have to say that the Green Mango was a pure hit with me, it contained Mango, blue curacao, fresh lime, & ginger beer and I literally felt as if I was in the Carribbean enjoying the party. It was punchy and the flavour blends were just perfect!

It’s a constant party vibe at Turtle Bay and honestly it has to be the one place doesn’t feel like you’re in a restaurant, I literally felt like I was on the islands just having the time of my life. With the music playing, the laughter and bright lights, the smell of authenticity and the drinks, this is the place to dine. The restaurant also offers a 2-4-1 happy hour but do check out the website for times. Turtle Bay also offers other drinks and soft drinks.

Overall, I have to say, this was by far one of the best dining experiences in a long while and where everything was spot on. I could not fault this restaurant, perfect for dining with loved ones, family or a group of friends. They are open 7 days a week and the staff and service did not disappoint me.
If you are after taste, authenticity and a great time out, check out Turtle Bay and their website further at turtlebay.co.uk
