April 2022: From the 28th May, National Children’s Garden Week takes place to celebrate children’s enthusiasm for gardening, making there no better time to get outdoors and encourage green-fingered children to try something new. Home and garden retailer Christow has a vast collection of gardening products to help the whole family to get involved this year.

The Week takes place in collaboration with Green Fingers Charity, to share their belief that time spent outside in a natural environment can be enormously beneficial. Last year, the week leading up to the event saw a 51% increase in searches for ‘tips on gardening with children’, suggesting the interest in gardening with children advice is particularly encouraged by National Children’s Garden Week. Growing fruit and vegetables is one of the easiest ways to get children intrigued and allow them to reap the benefits of their hard work.

Christow has a range of greenhouses to choose from that are suitable for growing crops. Ideal for mini gardeners at 40cm high, the Sleeper Cold Frame Greenhouse is a lightweight answer to year-round crop protections. Manufactured from UV stabilised polycarbonate windows, the Sleeper Cold Frame Greenhouse allows for optimum sunlight to reach crops. For taller plants, Christow’s Tomato Growhouse made from reinforced PE mesh promotes the strong and healthy growth of crops. Available in sizes for one or two grow bags, the grow houses are easy to assemble and include wind-resistant ties for extra stability.

For those wanting to create a workstation with their children, Christow’s Potting Table With Wheels are the perfect option and avoids adults needing to hunch over. Equipped with a drawer and removable compost tray, the potting table has plenty of space for youthful gardeners while keeping mess to a minimum. Priced at £79.99, the potting table is made from pressure-treated wood to ensure the longevity of the table in all weather conditions. The compact size and wheels make the table ideal for smaller gardens and for children to manoeuvre.

If new gardeners are in need of somewhere to store their equipment, Christow’s Narrow Sheds have plenty of storage for all of the essentials without taking up too much garden space. At only 77.5cm in width, the Narrow Sheds are ideal for mini gardeners and adults alike. Available in four different colour options for £159.99, the customisable Narrow Sheds can be built with or without the internal shelves provided dependent on storage needs and it also features a roof hatch storage perfect for children’s gardening tools.

All products featured, as well as hundreds more gardening products, are available from https://www.christowhome.co.uk/.
