Found at the southern fringes of the Cotswolds – one of rural England’s foodie hotspots, De Vere Tortworth Court has created ‘The Great British Afternoon Tea’ – an outdoors-inspired menu of savouries and cakes.
The menu uses homegrown and locally sourced quality produce and includes Tortworth Estate duck egg and watercress sandwiches, with eggs laid by the resident ducks; Wiltshire ham and Tortworth Estate green tomato chutney – made from the hotel’s tasty tomato crop and De Vere honey and lavender cake, made with honey from the Group’s own beehives. For an extra dash of indulgence, guests can add a glass of Lanson Champagne at an additional cost or an English Garden cocktail, made with Beefeater London dry gin, apple juice, elderflower, fresh lime and topped with lemon tonic.
Afternoon tea can be taken in the newly refurbished 1853 Restaurant & Bar, or outdoors on the terrace overlooking the grounds.
Dating back to the 11th Century De Vere Tortworth Court has a rich British heritage and marries a wealth of original features with 21st-century style. Having recently undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment, the country estate hotel is an idyllic setting for Afternoon Tea, with 30-acres of gardens and grounds to explore afterwards.
