Milan Fashion Week is about to host an extraordinary event that embodies creativity and essential values: the “Barbie Style Talent Contest.” Scheduled for September 24, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at the spectacular Spazio Diaz, in the heart of vibrant Milan, just steps from the Duomo, this unique event is endorsed by the Lombardy Region and organized by “Le Salon de la Mode – Musikologiamo,” a nationally and internationally recognized entity.
The “Barbie Style Talent Contest,” sponsored by the National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers, stems from the innovative vision of Gabriella Chiarappa, a fashion journalist and manager known for her relentless pursuit of innovation and commitment to blending fashion and culture. In this context, she has decided to go beyond fleeting trends, spotlighting young talents in fashion and hairstyling, with a particular focus on the authentic driving forces of the industry: creativity, innovation, and dedication.
The Contest hosts eight fashion designers and hairstylists selected from prestigious academies and industry associations, each inspired by the iconic Mattel doll. The jury comprises experts and institutional figures, including Francesca Caruso, Culture Councillor of the Lombardy Region, Alessandra Giulivo, President of the National Chamber of Young Fashion Designers, Vanessa D’Amico, Design Director RTW Tod’s, Mena Marano, CEO of the Arav Fashion Group, Marco Giuliano and Nicolò Bologna, Designers at MarcoBologna, Silvian Heach; and Pablo Ardizzone, Makeup Maestro. In the hairstyling sector, Isabella Corrado, Senior Hair Stylist at Vogue Salon, joins the panel.
The winners will have the opportunity to create a garment with an internationally renowned brand, attend specialized courses at renowned industry academies, and gain visibility in top international fashion magazines. Special thanks go to Silvian Heach for their full support of the project and MAM – Maiani Accademia Moda.
The “Barbie Style Talent Contest” is not just an event but a socio-cultural experience that addresses crucial themes such as female identity and gender equality, promoting fundamental values in contrast to the shallowness of modern society.
The event will host prominent guests, including the Pangea Onlus Foundation (Pangea Patatas Nana project) and Attorney Anna Leone of the (Anti) Association for the protection of LGBT rights, along with other distinguished personalities.

The “Barbie Style Talent Contest” celebrates the fashion, creativity, and innovation of the new generations, uniting creativity and values often overlooked by modern society. A unique opportunity for participants to bring “Barbie Style” directly to Milan Fashion Week. The event promises to be an evening filled with smiles, sparkling flashes, and unforgettable moments.
