MBNA Thames Clippers (www.mbnathamesclippers.com) and Totally Thames Festival are celebrating National Poetry Day with an evening of poetry inspired by the Thames. Join the RB1 MBNA Thames Clippers river boat service, departing Westminster Pier at 7.54pm on Thursday 28 September 2017 for an evening of performances and readings from the Boat Poets as you immerse yourself in the sights and sounds that have influenced them.
Since July, four young poets, supported by the Roundhouse Resident Artists programme, have spent time in the wheelhouses of boats along the length and breadth of the Thames in London. The Boat Poets have worked closely with the men and women working on London’s world-famous river, creating works inspired by their experiences.
Enjoy a drink from the on-board bar, as London’s fastest and most frequent river bus service whisks you along the Thames, past ancient monuments and modern landmarks, all to the rhymes and rhythms of new works from some of Britain’s most exciting young poets.
Boat Poets: River Lates will be on board a regular, timetabled service. Book your ticket online or tap in as you board with contactless and Oyster. A single ticket costs £6.50.
